Ugh…why does everything seem so damn confusing…?

I could hardly see anything anymore. At the moment, all that I could truly see was a vortex of darkness. Deep shades of crimson and stars seemed to go on and on for Miles. Space itself seemed to be twisting and turning constantly, making my head spin.

Where was I? I didn`t even know anymore. Come to think of it, at that time, I didn`t even remember who I was for a little while. Not one bit.

Quite suddenly, I could feel a presence. It wasn`t in this strange sort of space dimension with me though. No…it was outside of it. At the moment, being alone was the last thing that I wanted. I was so confused that I could hardly hear myself think, though the realm I appeared to be trapped in was very quiet.

I needed to get to that presence, wherever it was! There was no way I was going to stay stuck here in this weird place. I wanted out!

I began flailing in my new ghostly body, however, I didn`t even have any limbs to flail. I didn`t know who I was…so I couldn`t really have a body, now could I? I was simply what appeared to be an extremely angry blue flame lashing around in different dimensions.

After I was done with throwing my little tantrum of sorts, I decided that I had to calm down and actually think. With a little bit of extra effort, I was somehow able to get myself out of that empty dimension.

I was now in the park…but I couldn`t even remember why. I couldn`t move, either. My eyes were now beginning to see things much differently. Different colors, different shapes, and shiny, spherical blue lights were in the middle of many different objects.

I wasn`t exactly sure what was stranger; the fact that I couldn`t remember where or why I was in the park, or that there were glowing spheres all over the area.

At that point, all I could really do was mope for a moment. All of this seemed pointless, and I couldn`t even move to try to figure anything out. Life almost seemed better in that stupid void of darkness.
I felt myself jump slightly when I saw something coming toward me. It was a cat simply trotting along. Obviously, cats aren`t objects, but for some reason, it had a sphere in it too!

The kitten came just close enough for me to reach, and somehow, I got my nonexistent arm to stretch. As soon as I touched the odd light within the animal, I felt my entire body shifting as I was sucked into the little cat.

Sucking in a breath, my eyes snapped wide open. I stumbled backwards, landing on my rear as a horrified cry came out of my mouth.

Wait a minute…how am I moving? I couldn`t help but ask myself.

Glancing down, I saw something extremely odd. There were two furry paws underneath me.

Was I…inside a kitten?

When I opened my mouth to try and say something, all that came out of my mouth was an extremely distraught meow. Indeed…I had possessed a cat.

I didn`t even know what to do with myself at this point. All I could do was get up, and slink my way around the park until I found a way out. I didn`t even know where I was going.

I let out another sad mew as I passed a large building. With my memory lost, I couldn`t remember where I was at in town. All I knew at the moment was that I was walking next to a big, creepy looking building.

“Aw, a kitty!”

My ears perked up the moment I heard a squeaky voice come from behind me. I heard pounding footsteps coming my way as well, like the person was getting ready to bowl me right over! Not knowing what else to do, I lashed around and arched my back, letting out a hiss as I flashed my sharp white teeth at the attacker.

“Oh, I`m sorry, kitty. I didn`t mean to scare you.”

Before I knew it, I was face to face with a little girl, though she was much bigger than I was. She was sort of peculiar. Her hair was almost snow white as well as her skin. Under her right eye, she had two odd little markings. One was like a stripe, and the other was just a tiny blotch underneath the other.

Were they…burns? That`s what they appeared to be to me, anyways. Burns that had been healed over into little odd scars.

I wasn`t afraid of this child anymore. She didn`t appear to want to hurt me, anyways. I simply purred and licked my paws while she stroked me behind the ears. I liked it quite a bit, actually…

“Hey, are you the kitty from the news today?” she asked me.

I obviously couldn`t tell her an answer, so I simply cocked my head and flicked my tail instead.

The little girl shoved a hand down her pocket and pulled out a small, folded piece of paper. Unfolding the paper and smoothing out the wrinkles, she held it up for me to see.

“You look just like that little cat standing behind the guy who got shot with a meteor! See, there`s a picture of you with the little redheaded girl that got held hostage by that man. It`s sure a good thing that the meteor didn`t hit you, huh? That would`ve hurt really, really bad!” she exclaimed, holding out her arms to express the large magnitude of how much it would have hurt.

Wait…a man holding a girl hostage…? And then getting hit with a meteor?

I must`ve frightened the little girl when I curled up in a little ball on the ground, letting out a pained whimper as my head began to pound. Flashes of memories from the park began to flood my mind in that moment. All of the running I had been doing that day, the little girl on the ground cooking her sweet potato...and the man with the orange beard!

Quite suddenly…I was finally remembering who I was again. My name was Yomiel, and I was a man that always wore red and a pair of shades. Yomiel…the man who had apparently been struck with a meteor while holding a little redheaded girl hostage at gunpoint earlier that day…

“K-kitty? Are you alright?” I heard the albino girl whisper before she picked me up, gently holding me in her arms.

In all truth, I wasn`t even remotely alright. In fact, I wanted to cry. Not very manly, I know…but having such awful memories come back to you within a minute`s time is one of the most dreadful experiences you could ever have. As a cat, I couldn`t cry, so I simply opened my mouth and let out a long wail of a meow. I felt the little girl jump when I did it.

Almost immediately, she put me down, her sheer blue eyes widening.

“You stay right there, kitty. Maybe you`re sick, so I`m gonna go get you some water!” she exclaimed before running off.

I didn`t want water. I wanted to fall asleep for all of eternity. I absolutely knew that I had no way of getting out of going to prison now. I had held a little girl hostage at gunpoint. That alone was a disgusting feat in itself…

But wait a minute…how could I go to prison? I was in the body of a cat!

Almost as soon as that thought had crossed my mind, a horrible realization washed over my entire being. In all the horror movies, only ghosts could possess people. I had never heard of a living person being able to control another. Unfortunately, that left me with one cold conclusion.

I was dead. There was no doubt about that.

I felt my ears drop as a small whimper escaped my lips. But almost immediately, they perked right back up.

Wait- if I could possess a cat, then I could definitely possess my body again! Maybe I can still live my life!

What silly thoughts those were. However, at the time, I truly believed that the key to life was finding my corpse once again. Unfortunately, in the end, I would be gravely disappointed.

Twisting around frantically, I began trying to figure out where I was in town so I could go find the morgue, where my body was now most likely being kept either for an autopsy, or the preparations for my funeral. My eyes caught onto the large building cascaded by the shade of the city`s skyscrapers.

Langley`s Orphanage. The place was dull and smelled of rain from the previous day`s storm. I couldn`t help but wonder why that little girl had picked in front of this horrible building to play. It was anything except a happy sort of place. It didn`t remotely fit her personality.

However, I decided I had to ward off my thoughts and begin rushing to the morgue. Now that I knew where I was, there was no time to lose. I would only have so much time before my body would be filled with embalming fluid. Even though I knew that little girl would be coming back for me, I had to go. Life was more important than fresh water.

My paws began to pound against the concrete as I ran as fast as I could to the morgue. Oh, how I wished I had my human body to run with. Sprinting when you weren`t used to having four legs was absolutely awful. I found myself almost tripping every step of the way. However, after what seemed like the longest journey of my life, I was there.

However…I had absolutely no way of getting inside. The door was closed, and cats couldn`t open doors.

For a while, I stared at the door, and then proceeded to meow an insult of sorts at it. Absolutely nothing happened. For a moments, I felt hopeless once again, until my anger started to take over. I gritted my teeth hard, now glaring furiously at the knob with sheer green orbs.

Open, damn you! Open!

My mouth dropped wide open as I watched the door nearly fly off of its hinges as it slammed wide open. No one was on the other side.

W-w-wha? Did I do that? I couldn`t help but ask myself. How had the door just opened by itself if there was no wind, or even a person to knock it open? Did I really do that?!

Pulling myself out of the astonished daze I had been in, I quickly scampered through the door. Almost immediately, my keen sense of smell picked up on the stench of corpses. It almost knocked me over. At the moment, I was absolutely beginning to hate my new animalistic abilities.

However, even though I hated the smell, it led me into a room with many, many metal drawers. These were where all of the bodies were held before their funeral preparations. I wanted to gag as the stench continued to cloud my nostrils.

“What?! How…how is this possible?!”

I nearly jumped out of my skin the moment I heard an extremely confused voice cry out. Not knowing what else to do, I quickly ran into a dark corner of the room, hoping that my dark black fur would hide me well enough.

“The scalpel…it`ll go in, but I can`t move it. There`s not even any blood. How peculiar.”

I turned to see who had been speaking. In the middle of the room, there was an examination table with an old man standing next to it. On the table…was my body. The old man was repeatedly inserting a scalpel into my bare chest, trying to make an incision. However, he seemed to be failing horribly each time.

I could see my clothes folded up on top of a spare chair within the room. The old man had obviously been trying to get my body ready for the funeral…well, he would have been, if he could even get the autopsy done.

Why did all of those little incisions keep closing up? It didn`t make any sense! I was a human…and human bodies didn`t miraculously heal. Especially corpses!

Eventually, the odd little old man appeared to give up with trying to give me an autopsy. He simply whistled as he began to leave the room. To my surprise, a pigeon flew off of one of the tables, following him right out the door. It was one of the weirdest things I had ever seen.

As soon as that odd man was out of sight, I tried my hardest to pounce up onto the examination table. It took a few tried, but eventually, I was up there, staring at my own lifeless body. Not a single scratch was on my chest regardless of how many times it had been dug into with that scalpel. Not a single blemish, nor a hair out of place. It was as if I wasn`t dead at all. It was so…strange. The entire experience of being dead in itself was very upsetting. But I wasn`t dead if I could repossess my body, right…?

Squeezing my eyes shut tight, I could feel my consciousness beginning to drift into that of the dimension with the odd colors and glowing lights. Exactly what I wanted. In moments, I saw my body once again, a glowing sphere right where my heart was. Quickly, I reached out, latching onto it as it welcomed my spirit back inside.

It took a few moments…but finally, I opened my eyes. The light hurt them, and I immediately slapped a hand over my face. I wasn`t wearing my shades. I had very sensitive eyes under bright light, so at times, not wearing them felt as if someone was constantly deflecting shine into my eyes with a mirror.

With a groan, I managed to get up off of the table, my bare feet hitting the ground. I was completely nude….but somehow, not cold in the least. Maybe it was simply because my body was already used to the room`s temperature, though I knew it had to be fairly cold to keep the bodies from deteriorating so quickly.

Quickly, I put my cracked pair of sunglasses back on my nose, my other hand quickly scrambling for my pants. I couldn`t have anyone see me like this. The last thing I needed was to be charged for public indecency on top of my hostage holding felony.

As soon as my tie was firmly around my neck, and my jacket and shoes were back on, I spun on my heel, eager to get out of the morgue. However, something stopped me. I heard a small mew coming from the examination table. I turned around to see the small black kitten sitting there, its ears dropped as its tail slowly swayed.

Quickly, I went back and grabbed the furry little animal. A morgue was definitely no place for a stray kitten. And plus, I knew how much Sissel like animals. I was absolutely sure that I could talk her into keeping the little guy.

Wait a minute…how long had I been pronounced dead already?! Oh God…Sissel must be a wreck!

I swallowed hard the moment those thoughts crossed my mind. Little did I know what was to come as I left the morgue unnoticed.

Yomiel finally recovers his body at the morgue after much confusion. Poor guy is going to have a lot on his plate pretty soon here. ;__;

Hopefully this flows well. I am truly trying my hardest to keep the alternate storyline the same, and yet, make it different so it`s like a breath of fresh air. I hope I`m doing good!

One problem...

in the flashback on the game when Yomiel possessed his corpse, it already had it's clothes on.
